Hello. I’m a creative director and motion graphics artist in Seattle. Here are some of the things I have been doing for the last decade.

Describing the Invisible

Animated Explainer Videos
At ChefSteps I have been able to create animated videos to describe cooking concepts and the unseen forces at work in the kitchen. For most of these videos, I interviewed chefs and food scientists to write scripts, created storyboards and sketches to previsualize and proof the concept with the experts, then illustrated, animated and edited the videos, providing voiceovers for some of them.

Chefs and food scientists I interviewed provided rounds of feedback on my scripts. With their help, I have been able produce these videos using Adobe Creative Suite.

Crafting a Cooking Experience

Drawing on art skills

While publicly creating cooking content, ChefSteps was also working on immersion circulator hardware and the software it would take to control it from an app.

I helped develop the experience for the connected circulator in its early stages by creating storyboards and animatics.  These drawings visually demonstrated to us the possibilities we had, problems we would encounter, and opportunities to create a marketing story for an app-controlled cooking tool.
